ASTM/ICEA Standard Low Voltage ABC Aerial Bundled Cable
Overhead Duplex, Triplex and Quadruplex Service Drop-Aluminium Cable
Aluminum overhead cables include duplex, triplex, and quadruplex varieties.
Aluminum conductor cables are made of the 1350-H19 soft aluminum series. The insulation material is extruded thermoplastic polyethylene or XLPE to protect against outdoor environmental conditions. The maximum operating temperature of aluminium conduct cable is 75 degrees and the rated voltage is 600 volts.

Standard
ASTM B-230: Aluminum 1350-H19 wire for electrical purposes.
ASTM B-231: Concentric lay stranded aluminum 1350 conductors.
ICEA S-76-474: Neutral supported power cable assemblies with weather resistant extruded insulation rated at 600V.
Advantages of aluminum overhead cable
Aluminum overhead cables are most commonly used for overhead power lines since they are lightweight and relatively low cost. Aluminum has high density and low conductivity, which allows these overhead service drop cables to carry current with minimal losses. Aluminum overhead cables are cost-efficient and the corrosion resistance and adaptability can adapt to a variety of harsh climatic conditions, and is widely used in power transmission and distribution systems.
Construction
Covered Line Wire, Duplex, Triplex or Quadruplex Service Drop Available.
Phase conductors twisted around a bare aluminum alloy or ACSR neutral conductor.
Conductors: Aluminum alloy 1350-H19 wire.
Insulation: Black thermoset cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE).
Neutral: Bare aluminum alloy or ACSR.
